Why does my monthly sales activity figure from Paypal (which, of course, matches up to all my sales receipts) not match the income shown on Outright? If Outright is pulling this info from Paypal, shouldn't it be identical? (note: the *only* money that goes into my paypal account is from customer sales, never anything else).

I have a similar item, I'm trying to understand why my PayPal sales aren't showing up as income a well in the income part of Outright. They show up as sales when I click the income tab, but when I try to filter income by specific dates (mainly months) I don't get any results.
I'm having same problem!
I have been on updating paypal account for 2 days with no results just stays on updating accounts with no change or updating
Same set up account shows ebay fees but no income - does show my paypal balance but that is all
I'm having the same problem? Does nobody have an answer/suggestion? It is really frustrating, mine is off by almost 300.00 paypal showing more.
Folks - some of you are having the same issue as others but some are slightly different. I'll reply to each of you separately in hopes of keeping the information clear.
@lucy - there are a few transaction types that PayPal includes in the file they sent you that they don't send to Outright. We'd be happy to help you research the discrepancy if you'd like to create a support request - include a short time period that doesn't match (no more than a month) and attach a copy of the file from PayPal for that same time period.
@OfficeDrop - your PayPal import never finished running - that's why your numbers don't look right. If clicking the "Try Again" button doesn't clear up the situation please submit a support request; we'll research it further and escalate to the engineering team if need be.
@pineapple - the last message we saw from you was related to trouble accessing Outright. It looks like your PayPal account has finished importing. If your reports / totals don't look right, or if you're missing big chunks of PayPal data, please submit a support request so we can keep you updated on our progress on that issue.
@WisconsinVacuum - we just sent you an email with information. In short - PayPal takes awhile and the more data you have the longer it'll take. We made some changes late last week that should speed things up, but it still might take awhile.
@eddy / @vol25 - Your PayPal account was in error, but is now in success. Please take a look at your Outright account to see if all the transactions are there now. If not, submit a support request so we can keep you posted on our progress with this issue. The best way to get a response directly from an Outright Customer Care Representative is to submit a support request.
Thank you Christie- will take a look! :)
I just opened up my Outright account. I imported all of my Etsy and PayPal info but something is seriously wrong! I have gone thru all of my Expense info line by line and it's right. But when I switched over to my Income info I only wish I had made that much. It is showing some of the same transactions that are expenses as sales. Payments that have been made to vendors are showing up as sales. How do I rectify this? I only had 7 Etsy sales in 2011 and no way did I may $300+. This just isn't working. I need help ASAP please
I have the same problem, some of my "income" is actually expenses. I know to go on the "Overview" page and change the category but I really hope in the future info will transfer correctly.
Hi Everyone isn't technology great!
I just want to tell you I have been with Outright a little more than a year and the one thing I have gained is complete confidence in Outright Support. They always walked me through any issue till it is resolved. Even when I realized I did not read it right or it was already fixed they never played the "gotcha game" they are always there to give you support in a kind and patient way. As a sole proprietor their support is priceless.
@mysistermyheart2011 I just made a ticket for you so we could look at your particular situation and make sure we get everything categorized correctly for you. We *should* be able to get you fixed up so it's not constant work with each import.
If you have questions about your company in the future, feel free to ask our agents a question.
@FleurDeLeeDesign I'll make a ticket for you too. We definitely want to help you get your Income & Expenses straightened out.
@KMOthus Art Aww, thanks. They are pretty great. (I'm a product manager here at Outright, so it's ok for me to give them props too. :)
All, let me know if I can help in any other way.
Thanks.
Some of my income is listed as expenses and I can't figure out how to get those transactions back into the income section. Please help!

I am having a bit of an issue. For some reason some of my paypal fees shows up under a vendor as " cost of goods sold" when I try to change them individually. It makes them all paypal fees including my vendors cost of goods sold it sends them all one way or another but I can not individually edit them to put them where they belong
I am having a problem with my taxes. #1 it says I owe $1,031.88 for quarterly taxes yet I have a net profit of $1265.66 for the year so far at the top of my page. #2 - When I click on "Profit 2012" at the top of my page next to where it puts your profit amount $1265.66- it brings me to the profit and loss page with a table for Jan-March and says my net profit is $4428.66 which is where I assume the tax amount of $1031 is coming from but all my other numbers say my profit for this year is $1265. What am I doing wrong?
Help!
I am also seeing a discrepancy between the income my paypal is showing and the income outright is showing. Did we ever find out exactly what was causing that or is it just different for everyone? I found one thing where I over paid for a product and they issued a partial refund that was recorded as income, but that doesn't account for the whole discrepancy either. What would I change that to anyway refund?
@lady strange - i see you received a response via email and that the situation is resolved. let us know if anything else comes up.
@elisabeth - I'm going to send you an email with what I found... it's a little complicated but I think I understand where the numbers are coming from for the most part.
@adella - there are a number of reasons why your paypal number might not match Outright. I suggest starting here: http://help.outright.com/forums/20456391-1099-k; we've covered most of the common reasons. If that doesn't help, feel free to send us a support request via the button at the top of help.outright.com.
Hi, All of my ebay transactions, sales and shipping, are being doubled up as income. (Instead of one sale and one shipping I get two of each.) Can this be fixed? Thanks
@HighPower - you're importing from eBay twice :)... click your company name / briefcase at the top of the page and then "Linked Accounts". On this page you'll see eBay listed twice. If you don't have two eBay accounts then these two are likely to be two copies of the same account.
To clear up the situation you can delete one of them - which will remove all the transactions at the same time. I hope this helps.
Thank you Christie! I deleted one of the accounts so I think my problem is solved! Thank you for the help and I love Outright! Tim
I have been "trying" to use Outright for approximately a month. The charge card and Paypal linking works great! But I CAN. NOT. get my checking account and Freshbooks to link. At. all. I have submitted email at least 3 times and continue to get the same response - We are working on it. Really? Three weeks?? I would really like to LOVE Outright and think it has huge potential. I would really like to recommend Outright but cannot at this time since I don't know what links or doesn't at this time. And before I ever pay for this service it better be working pretty much flawlessly.
Any suggestions?? Help me to love Outright! I really want to!
Thanks!
Hi - another responder from Outright here. I do not want to set your expectations (or anyone's) that this de-duplication will come particularly soon. I'm sorry. My suggestion, at this point, would be to either not import your freshbooks invoices now, OR, import them, but instead of marking them as paid when they get paid, just delete them. It sounds like you're importing your bank account data - and I'll assume that there are more than just paid invoices in that set of data - in which case you should continue to import from the bank, We DO intend to get to the improved invoice management for you, but that goal is not for the immediate term. The time you've taken to tell us about this issue has NOT gone unheard, we do have this on the roadmap thanks to you and people like you letting us know their needs.
Thanks Laurel for responding... I can work without the use of the Freshbooks link however, I cannot work without the checking account linking. That is a MUST. And should work as far as I am concerned. My account is not via a major bank like Bank of America or Citibank - I am a small business and cannot afford their fees, which are not worth the service they provide. I did not have an issue connecting my local bank using another similar online service such as yours which I will not name here. So if they could do it, why not you?? The reason that I chose Outright is because is offered more - like having the ability to print reports! If someone can contact me directly and see if they are able to actually make it connect that would be fantastic. If not, then I will have to abandon an otherwise superior service, if only it would link my checking account - a major piece in my puzzle!!
I just wanted to mention that my PayPal balance is showing up in USD $ but the funds in my PayPal account are actually in Euros €....
Same amount, different currency.
@itsawaysaway - Outright only tracks one currency - all amounts are assumed to be of the same currency. If you'd like to change the currency symbol that shows up, you can do that on the Profile and Settings page. Just change the country on the Company Info page and the currency symbol will change on the Income and Expenses tabs. Unfortunately, the currency symbol on reports will always be "$" - it's a known issue and a limitation of the reporting tool we use. I hope this helps.
@karin - I see your bank account is still in the same error - so sorry about that. I've created a new support request for you (you'll receive the confirmation in a few minutes) and will submit a request on your behalf to our banking partner. We haven't been able to make much headway on this end so hopefully Yodlee (our banking partner) will be able to provide more information.
Regarding your comment about being able to connect to your bank using a different service - it would depend on the service as to why it works there and not in Outright. If this is indeed a Yodlee issue, my guess would be that the other service doesn't use Yodlee as their banking partner. For example, Mint doesn't use Yodlee.
